I have been stuck at a Plateau. And I hate it.

My friend John is a fitness buff... like really, really fit. He's one of those people, you know the guy who works out for the fun of it... He's the kind that goes to the gym when he's bored - we can call him a type A. I'm more of a type B. Going to the gym is the last thing I think of, and even in the car on the way, I'm just waiting for something to pop up to send me back home. John is married to one of my besties, Lisa - we quilt together, and she was the one who invited me to bootcamp that turned my thinking upside down, really showed me that I am capable of being healthy, of accomplishing goals. They are a dynamic team, they teach firearm classes, self defense, healthy eating, and train for fitness. Together, they both  encourage me when I am struggling and applaud my victories. They don't do it because I need it, they do it because it is something they are really passionate about.  It just flows out of them like a healing balm. A couple you want to have in your corner.  For the record, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, I will be on Team Thornburg. :)

The Bible (Corinthians 15:33) talks about this principle. When you spend your time with bad company you start toward personal sickness, and likewise when you spend your time with people with good company it promotes personal health.  John and Lisa fill me with encouragement and remind me that I can do it, the more time I spend around them, the more excited I am to actually achieve success. Last night I popped in to their house to hear about their new business, a line of supplements called Advocare. I am struggling with terrible carb cravings and am having a hard time eating "clean". They both recommended I try Advocare's 24 day challenge to get my body cleansed, and into the habit of eating healthy foods close to the way that God intended. So here I am ... day one.

I am going to post updates nightly what I have eaten, what I have done for exercise, and how I feel about it. It is going to help keep me accountable and get me ready for the Color Run in September, and maybe another 5K in October. Moving forward. Join me and support me. I love hearing your questions, comments, and encouragement. Thanks for the love. :)
